The 'Georgia' two piece!

I made this on a Friday night when I realised I had 'nothing' to wear for the Saturday night!! It was my first attempt at making sleeves and cant believe they worked for the first attempt!! I had some scrap material left over and the urge to sew so this was just a practice run but it worked so well I ended up wearing it the next night! I absolutely loved it and I am so happy with it! Everyone was complimenting me and asking where I got it from!!

Backless bodycon!

So this is my first attempt at making a dress! I chose to do a bodycon as it's the dress I am most likely going to wear, and I am using a Lycra material so it's the most suitable style dress too. I wanted to experiment with not using patterns at all and only using my measurements, a different way to how I have been taught at university. I used two metres of fabric and was able to line the dress and have enough for a pencil skirt that I'll also put up on here!! Please comment or email me what you think! New fabrics!

I know I haven't used this blog a lot, as I haven't actually learnt how to make anything yet. However, I have just taken the first step and brought some new fabric, bright red Lycra, so hopefully next weekend I'll be able to take my first step and start teaching myself how to make body con dresses. I want experiment with different ways of pattern cutting first as I don't have the paper nor the facilities to use the traditional paper pattern cutting. I want to try draping and cutting it to the stand etc so I'm gonna to use a miniature dummy And some spare fabric I have to see what ways work best!! I'll pop the picture up when I've done it, hopefully later today!!! X
